Defenseman Michal Kempny decided to terms on a single-year hire the Blackhawks on Saturday. Financial terms weren't
disclosed.
Kempny, 26, who might have be a restricted free agent This summer 1, had eight points (two goals, six assists) in 50 games in the first
season within the National hockey league Frank Thomas Jersey.
"Michal's type of play is definitely an focal point in our defense," Blackhawks gm Stan Bowman stated. "He's the kind of player who'll
still improve since he's transitioned towards the Nhl. We expect to his ongoing development around the
ice for that Blackhawks.
Just before joining the Blackhawks, Kempny performed for Avangard Omsk within the Kontinental Hockey League, where he'd 21 points (five
goals, 16 assists) and it was plus-18 in 59 games. Kempny also performed for that Czech Republic within the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and also the
2017 World Hockey Championship Blue Jays Canada Day.
