Stanley Cup Playoff history is decidedly unkind to some goalie coming off a rocky game.

The phrase rocky? It comes down to a save percentage starting with the amount 6.

Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne's save percentage was .636 after allowing four goals on 11 shots inside a 5-3 reduction in Game one of the Stanley Cup Final from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday, the worst inside a full playoff game since 1967.

If your goalie will falter, it may as well be Game 1. Rinne has sufficient time to recuperate and the teammates and hockey experts were consistent in believing he'll achieve this according to his pedigree and gratifaction within the playoffs to date.

Game 2 reaches PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday (8 p.m. ET NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVA Sports).

"Since First Day that I have been here, [Pekka] continues to be our very best player night in, evening out,Inch Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis stated. "He's among the best, otherwise the very best, goalkeeper within the League. Especially my first couple years, he was the main difference maker constantly.

"He's this type of great guy from the ice. He's a genuine leader within our room. I expect him to recover. He's an awesome goalkeeper. He's been our MVP all year long.Inch

Mike Liut from the St. Louis Blues were built with a .650 SV% from the New You are able to Rangers in Game 6 from the Quarterfinals on April 24, 1981 Jarrod Saltalamacchia Jersey.

Liut was without an opportunity to redeem themself after allowing seven goals.

The series was over.

Goalie Ray Emery were built with a .667 SV% for that Ottawa Senators in Game 5 from the Cup Final from the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.

Like Liut, there wasn't any opportunity for a playoff redemption story for Emery since the series was over, the Ducks won the Cup and also the Senators moved to the handshake line.

Despite his performance in Game 1, Rinne is 12-5 having a 1.83 goals-against average and .934 save percentage this postseason.

"I believe Pekka is really a competitor," Predators coach Peter Laviolette stated. "He's all set to go. He was all set to go last game. He'll prepare yourself next game too.Inch

It had been Rinne's worst save percentage inside a game since March. 3, 2013, as he was pulled from the St. Louis Blues at 9:45 from the first period after allowing three goals on six shots. Rinne began the following game and lost 3-1 towards the Colorado Avalanche.

But 2013 may as well be another era with regards to Rinne and also the Predators.

"I believe he will recover, not a problem whatsoever," Hockey Night in Canada analyst and former National hockey league goalie Kelly Hrudey stated Blue Jays Pillar.

"I am a large fan of his, not just the way in which he plays. Like several guys his age, a few of the more youthful guys be more effective technically like [Pittsburgh goalie] Matt Murray and so forth, however i such as the way he competes.

"I've found there is a place and time for aggressive goaltending, so I like it. Next, I like Rinne like a person."

The cool nature of Game 1 did not help, either. Rinne did not face a go for 37:00, and also the Penguins ended the shot drought with forward Mike Guentzel's game-winning goal with 3:17 left within the third period.

Rinne told reporters following the game Monday it had become his job to help make the save and the man was disappointed he could not save the day.

The Predators didn't make Rinne open to the press on Tuesday.

"To tell the truth, not really a lot that you can do around the goals," Predators forward Filip Forsberg stated. "A few tough bounces, things like that.

"Should you consider the stats, it clearly does not look great in a single game. Should you try looking in the playoffs, he's been the very best player within the playoffs. Searching back, since i have came here a few years back, he's been the very best player in many of the games performed.

"Most of us have the idea in [Pekka] we are able to have. I am searching toward seeing him play next game vintage ccm hockey jerseys. "
